PLEASE EXPLAIN..In my post,I ooutlined briefly current availability of old movies in Australia and this illustates the value of the Archives I then commented on Hollywood remakes and even with a brief knowledge of Hollywood history ,my comments were not fancible because Hollywood has done far more silly things.I cannot get any meaning from your post

My original post was too brief. My intention was to thank the Archive staff for making available movies, which in Australia, are not available on television or on dvd. My comment on gunsmoke ranch tried to contrast the original film with a remake under todays standards

I'll agree that IA is doing an excellent public svc here.

If you're trying to say that old films shold not be redone by the movie biz as they'll just screw it up, I'll agree to that too.
